platform engineering

Platform engineering your developers actually want to use.

Obsium simplifies software delivery by building unified, automated platforms that give your teams everything they need — infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, and security — in one place. Developers self-serve golden paths instead of filing tickets, so releases get faster and your best engineers stop being the bottleneck.

why it matters

Why do you need platform engineering?

As you grow, every team reinvents the same infrastructure, pipelines, and guardrails — and your best engineers turn into a ticket queue for everyone else. Platform engineering fixes that by building a single internal platform with paved, self-service paths: developers ship on their own, safely, while standards, security, and observability are baked in. Less glue code, less waiting, more shipping.

  • Internal Developer Platform (IDP)
  • Golden paths & self-service
  • CI/CD & delivery automation
  • Built-in observability
  • Security & governance by design
  • Scalable, reliable architecture

Everything a platform needs, nothing it doesn't.

Six disciplines, one partner — the layers that turn tool sprawl and tickets into paved, self-service delivery. Built on your stack, owned by your team.

01

Internal Developer Platform

We bring your tools and systems together into one platform so developers can create, test, and launch on their own — no waiting on multiple teams. Faster releases, smoother workflows, happier engineers.

02

CI/CD & Delivery Automation

Paved, automated pipelines from commit to production so shipping is a non-event — standardized across teams, so nobody rebuilds delivery from scratch again.

03

Infrastructure as Code

Reproducible, version-controlled environments that work the same everywhere — no more "it works on my machine" or snowflake setups.

04

Built-In Observability

Metrics, logs, and traces integrated across apps and infrastructure from day one — clear visibility so teams detect and resolve issues before users feel them. Observability is our root discipline.

Security & Governance by Design

DevSecOps baked in: policies, access, and compliance checks run automatically in the background, keeping the platform secure from code to production while teams move fast.

Assess, build, embed — or run the platform for you.

Plug us in at the level you need — from a platform assessment to engineers who build and run it with your team.

Platform Assessment

A review of your delivery, tooling, and developer experience with a prioritized platform roadmap.

Build & Integrate

We design and build the platform — IDP, pipelines, observability, guardrails — then hand it over documented.

Embedded Platform Engineers

Senior platform engineers who join your team, build the paved roads, and keep developers unblocked.

Managed Platform

We run and evolve your internal platform as an ongoing partner, so it keeps getting better over time.

how it works

How a platform engineering engagement works

Four stages. Written deliverables at every one. Your engineers in the room throughout.

01 weeks 1–2

Assess & Align

We map how your developers actually ship today — the tickets, the waits, the tool sprawl — against where you want to be. You get findings ranked by developer impact.

02 weeks 2–4

Design & Pave

Platform architecture, golden paths, guardrails, and the developer portal designed for your stack — documented, with the first paved road live from day one.

03 weeks 4–12

Build & Embed

Staged rollout alongside your team, service by service, with our engineers embedded so your people own the platform, not just inherit it.

04 ongoing

Operate & Evolve

We stay on as an escalation point or run the platform with you. Monthly reviews track adoption, delivery speed, and reliability so the platform keeps improving.

why obsium

Fewer tickets, more shipping.

Most "platforms" are a wiki page and a pile of tools nobody agrees on. Developers still file tickets, wait on ops, and copy-paste last quarter's YAML. The platform team just becomes the new bottleneck.

We build the opposite. A real platform is self-service and paved — golden paths that make the right way the easy way, with security, observability, and standards built in. We embed with your team and leave the platform, portal, and runbooks in your hands. Adoption is the metric, not activity.

/01 Unified Platforms

We eliminate tool sprawl by integrating everything your teams need into one cohesive system, not another dashboard to check.

/02 Faster Delivery

Automated workflows replace manual approvals, so developers focus on building, not waiting on other teams.

/03 Proactive Observability

We turn monitoring into insight, catching issues before they reach users — built into the platform, not bolted on.

/04 Built-In Security

Compliance and protection are embedded into every layer, keeping systems safe as you scale — without slowing anyone down.

Platform engineering FAQs

What is platform engineering?+
Platform engineering is the practice of building an internal platform — with paved, self-service paths — so developers can ship software on their own without wrestling infrastructure, pipelines, or approvals. It treats your internal tooling as a product, with developer experience as the goal.
How is platform engineering different from DevOps?+
DevOps is a culture and set of practices for shipping faster; platform engineering is how you scale those practices across many teams. Instead of every team wiring up their own CI/CD and infrastructure, a platform team builds golden paths everyone reuses. DevOps says you build it, you run it; platform engineering makes that realistic at scale.
What is an Internal Developer Platform (IDP)?+
An IDP is the self-service layer developers interact with — often a portal — that unifies infrastructure, CI/CD, environments, observability, and security behind simple, paved workflows. Instead of filing tickets, a developer spins up a service, environment, or deployment on their own, with guardrails already in place.
Do we need platform engineering if we already have DevOps or SRE?+
Often, yes — they're complementary. If your teams are duplicating infrastructure work, waiting on a central ops team, or drowning in tool sprawl, a platform consolidates that into reusable golden paths. SRE keeps it reliable, DevOps keeps you shipping, and platform engineering makes both repeatable across the organization.
How long does it take to build an internal developer platform?+
You'll see value fast — the first golden path is usually live within a few weeks. A broader platform rolls out in stages over a few months, service by service, so teams adopt it gradually rather than through a big-bang migration. You'll see the roadmap in writing before we start.
Will the platform work with our existing tools?+
Yes. We build on the tools and clouds you already use — Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub or GitLab, Argo CD, Prometheus, Grafana, Backstage, and more — and integrate them into one coherent platform rather than forcing a rip-and-replace.
