Top 10 AWS Consulting Companies

Top 10 AWS Consulting Companies in 2026

Picking an AWS partner mostly comes down to one question, and it is worth answering before you talk to anyone: do you need a project, or do you need someone to run things?

A project has an end. You build a new AWS setup, you move off VMware, you get a bill that doubled back under control. Then it is finished.

Running things never ends. It is monitoring, patching, being on call, and having someone answer the phone at 3 am when something breaks.

Firms are built for one or the other. Signing a monthly contract to run your systems when what you needed was six weeks of expert help is the most expensive mistake people make here. It is also the most common one.

After that, the market splits into three groups:

  • AWS-only specialists. They work on AWS and nothing else. Usually 50 to 500 people. They know AWS better than anyone, and they are the right size if you have a clear problem to solve.
  • Big global consultancies. Accenture, Deloitte, TCS and firms like them. Worth it for huge, multi-year projects across several countries. Too big and too expensive for anything smaller.
  • Software products that look like consultancies. More common than they used to be, and easy to mix up with the real thing. You are buying a tool with support, not a team of people.

This list covers ten firms from the first group. There is a section on the big consultancies further down, for when you actually need one.

For every firm, you get the same four things: their AWS partner status, checked in September 2026 against the firm’s own website rather than copied from someone else’s list; who owns them today; what they are genuinely good at; and a straight answer on who should hire them and who should not.

One thing to know before you start making calls. A lot of these companies have been bought since 2024. Three firms that still show up on AWS lists published this year are not independent businesses anymore. One was bought last October. One is now a brand inside a phone company. One was never a consultancy in the first place. We name them at the end, because knowing who is off the table saves you as much time as knowing who is on it.

The numbers are just for reading order, not a ranking. A firm with 7,000 consultants and a ten-person specialist shop are not competing for the same job. Ranking them against each other would tell you nothing useful. The list is grouped by who each firm suits.

How we picked these firms

Four things, in this order.

1. We checked their AWS partner status. On each firm’s own site or an AWS page, in September 2026. Not copied from another list. This matters because these claims go out of date and then get repeated for years.

2. We checked who owns them. Whether the firm you would be hiring is still the firm you think it is. A lot of well-known names are now departments inside bigger companies. That is not always bad, but it changes who you are signing a contract with.

3. We looked at what they are known for. Not the service list on their website. Almost every AWS partner says they do migration, DevOps, security and cost savings. Very few are good at all four.

4. We looked at who they suit. A firm that is great at moving a Fortune 500’s ancient systems is usually the wrong pick for a startup that needs its AWS accounts set up properly in six weeks. Fit matters more than quality.

We did not rank by revenue, staff numbers or how many certificates they hold. Those tell you how big a firm is. Size is not what most teams get wrong.

Top 10 AWS Consulting Companies

1. Caylent

Credentials: Premier Tier Services Partner HQ: Irvine, California Best for: Medium to large companies modernising systems, especially with AI involved

Caylent is now the biggest AWS-only firm around, and buying other companies is part of how it got there. It bought Trek10 in October 2025 and folded that firm’s serverless expertise into its own team.

Most of their pitch is about AI: building AI applications, setting up data platforms, and modernising systems where the goal is a new AI capability rather than just a smaller bill. They are also an Anthropic Preferred Services Partner, which is unusual for an AWS firm and tells you where they are placing their bets.

They have been owned by a private equity firm, Gryphon Investors, since 2022. That is worth knowing. Private-equity-owned consultancies tend to grow by buying other firms and making delivery more standard across the business. Good for consistency. Less good if you liked the small team you met in the sales meeting.

Hire them if: you are modernising something real and want a firm with enough people across data, AI and software engineering. Look elsewhere if: you want a small team of senior people on one focused job.

2. Obsium

Credentials: AWS Well-Architected reviews · multi-account setups built on AWS Control Tower · VMware-to-AWS migrations with no downtime · AWS cost control and FinOps HQ: Pleasanton, California, with engineers in Kochi, India Best for: Growing companies that need senior AWS help without signing a monthly contract

We do not run your systems for you, and we do not try to. We do AWS engineering as projects with a start and an end.

That means four kinds of work.

AWS Well-Architected reviews. We go through your current AWS setup against Amazon’s own best-practice framework and hand you a written plan, sorted by what is most urgent. Real findings tied to your real systems, not a generic checklist.

Getting your AWS accounts set up properly. Most companies end up with AWS accounts that grew messily over years. We rebuild that on AWS Control Tower with security rules and account creation built in from the start, so adding your next ten accounts takes minutes instead of weeks.

Moving systems to AWS. We plan the move one system at a time. Sometimes copying a system across as-is is the right answer. Sometimes rebuilding it to run on containers or serverless pays for itself. We tell you which is which instead of rebuilding everything by default.

Keeping the bill under control. Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, Graviton chips, Spot pricing and a tagging system that shows you where the money actually goes.

The job we would point you at first is a VMware-to-AWS migration we finished with zero downtime and no changes to the applications themselves. The full case study is on our site.

What makes us different: most firms on this list are set up to sell you an ongoing monthly service. For plenty of companies that is exactly right. But if you already have a decent platform team and you need senior AWS help for one specific problem — messy accounts, a migration, a bill that got away from you — a monthly retainer is an expensive way to buy it.

Hire us if: you have your own engineers and want AWS specialists working next to them, not replacing them. Look elsewhere if: you want someone on call around the clock, or a team based only in the US. Mission or ClearScale suit that better, and we would say so on the call.

3. Mission, a CDW Company

Credentials: Premier Tier Services and Software Partner HQ: Los Angeles, California · 300+ staff Best for: Medium-sized companies that want someone to run their AWS setup

This used to be Mission Cloud. CDW bought them in December 2024 and they are now Mission, a CDW Company.

They still work on AWS only — no Azure, no Google Cloud. That is rarer than you would think, and it matters if you want a partner with no reason to push you somewhere else.

They hold 18 AWS competencies. A competency is a badge AWS gives a firm after checking real customer results in one area, so 18 is a wide spread: migration, DevOps, security, data, machine learning, AI, plus specific ones for healthcare, life sciences, government and education. AWS named them Security Partner of the Year in 2024.

Being owned by CDW has an upside and a downside. You get the backing and buying power of a very large IT company. You also get a firm that is now one department inside it.

Hire them if: you want AWS-only managed services with wide expertise and a big company behind the contract. Look elsewhere if: you want a firm whose leadership answers only to its customers.

4. ClearScale

Credentials: Premier Tier Services Partner — held without a break since 2015 HQ: San Francisco, California Best for: General AWS engineering across a lot of different systems

Ten years at Premier Tier is the longest unbroken run on this list. Firms have to keep re-earning that status, so holding it that long through several very different eras of AWS is genuinely hard.

They hold 13 competencies and nine service validations, covering migration, DevOps, machine learning, data, software-as-a-service, connected devices and several industries. In April 2025 they signed an agreement with AWS aimed specifically at smaller businesses, which suggests they are moving towards smaller customers rather than bigger ones.

They are less specialised than most firms here. They are a broad AWS engineering shop rather than a firm famous for one thing. Whether that helps you depends on how clearly defined your problem is.

Hire them if: you have a mixed bag of AWS systems and want one partner who can handle most of it. Look elsewhere if: your problem is narrow and deep. A specialist will get further.

5. nClouds

Credentials: Premier Tier Services Partner HQ: San Jose, California Best for: Smaller and mid-sized companies wanting DevOps-led AWS work

nClouds has the most interesting story on this list. While most of the market was being bought up, nClouds has been doing the buying — BitPusher in June 2025, PREDICTif Solutions in September 2025, and AppEvolve in January 2026.

They hold competencies in migration, DevOps, software-as-a-service, healthcare, data, security and more. They have also held AWS’s managed services validation without a break since 2016. That one is worth noting because it means passing a tough outside audit again and again, not just once.

Hire them if: you want DevOps-led AWS work from a firm that still owns itself and is growing rather than being absorbed. Look elsewhere if: you need deep expertise in a regulated industry they do not list.

6. CloudHesive

Credentials: Premier Tier Services Partner HQ: Fort Lauderdale, Florida · offices in Denver, New York, Chile, Colombia and Argentina Best for: Amazon Connect call-centre work, and teams in Latin America working US hours

CloudHesive is the clearest example here of a firm that is truly known for one thing. They build cloud call centres on Amazon Connect — phone menus, agent tools, the lot. That is a real specialism, not a line on a services page. They also hold an AI services competency.

Their offices across Latin America mean they can put a team on your work in a time zone close to yours. For US companies that want lower costs without a twelve-hour delay on every question, that is a practical advantage.

Hire them if: your project involves Amazon Connect, or you want a team working US hours at a lower cost. Look elsewhere if: call centres have nothing to do with your business. You would be buying their general work rather than their best work.

7. Innovative Solutions

Credentials: Premier Tier Services Partner HQ: West Henrietta, New York Best for: Smaller, growing companies that want AI built into how the work gets done

Innovative Solutions holds AWS’s Agentic AI Specialization and a managed services competency, and has a two-year agreement with AWS focused on AI agents. They have built their own tools — DarcyIQ and CloudLine — and they put their engineers inside customer teams rather than working from outside.

This is one of the more distinctive positions in the market right now. It is also one of the newest, which means there is less history to judge it by.

Hire them if: you are growing, you want AI-assisted delivery, and you do not mind being fairly early to it. Look elsewhere if: you want a long, boring, proven track record.

8. Cloudelligent

Credentials: Premier Tier Services Partner (reached recently) HQ: Dallas, Texas [VERIFY — most external records still list Phoenix/Chandler, Arizona; appears to be a recent relocation] Best for: Small businesses, charities and software companies

Cloudelligent works on AWS only and has done since it started. They reached Premier Tier recently, came sixth on the Channel Futures MSP 501 list in 2025, and made CRN’s Tech Elite 250 in 2026.

Their competencies cover managed services, AI, DevOps, migration and storage. The work they do for nonprofits is a real focus rather than a box-ticking exercise.

Hire them if: you are a small business, a charity or a software company and want a partner your size. Look elsewhere if: you are a large enterprise. You would be their biggest customer, which rarely goes well for either side.

9. Effectual

Credentials: Premier Tier Services Partner HQ: Jersey City, New Jersey Best for: Government, public sector and heavily regulated work

AWS named Effectual Public Sector Consulting Partner of the Year for North America in 2025, and made them a ProServe Rising Star the same year. Together that is the strongest recent public-sector signal on this list.

They hold 13 competencies and eight service validations, with around 300 AWS certifications across the team.

Hire them if: you are in government or the public sector, or you have federal compliance rules to meet. Look elsewhere if: you are a normal commercial business. You would be paying for a level of compliance rigour you do not need.

10. 2nd Watch

Credentials: Premier Tier Services Partner [VERIFY — could not be confirmed on a live page; their site blocks automated checks] HQ: Seattle, Washington and Chicago, Illinois Best for: Large companies with a serious AWS spending problem

What sets 2nd Watch apart is cloud financial work — tracking, forecasting and cutting AWS spend for big companies, with the reporting to back it up. They hold a data and analytics competency and have been working with AWS since its early enterprise days.

ST Telemedia has owned the majority of the business since 2022.

Hire them if: your problem is a large AWS bill and you want a partner who leads with the numbers. Look elsewhere if: you are a mid-sized company. This is built for enterprises.

The big global consultancies: when you need one instead

None of the firms above will run a three-year programme across several countries alongside a company-wide systems overhaul. These will.

FirmAWS statusKnown for
AccenturePremier Tier ServicesA joint venture with AWS; AI and data work at global scale
DeloittePremier TierRegulated industries — medicine, healthcare, government, finance
TCSPremier Tier ServicesVery large migrations and old mainframe systems
CognizantPremier Tier ServicesMigration and mainframe work; 15,000 AWS-trained staff
WiproPremier23+ competencies; car makers, energy and manufacturing

SlalomPremier7,000+ consultants with AWS experience; local-office model
PresidioPremier Consulting PartnerAWS Marketplace sales — first partner past $1B
Rackspace TechnologyManaged services across several clouds, at scale

Two things worth knowing before you call one.

Slalom works differently from the others. They staff projects from local offices rather than flying people in, which makes for a noticeably different experience. AWS gave them 13 Partner of the Year awards in 2025.

Rackspace is changing direction. In June 2026 they cut about 15% of their staff worldwide. The company said it is deliberately moving away from older public cloud services to focus on enterprise AI, expecting to save $75–85 million a year. If you are thinking about Rackspace for ordinary AWS managed services, ask them directly how well staffed that part of the business will be going forward.

Three firms you will see on other lists that you can no longer hire

This is the section we most wanted to read, and the one nobody writes.

Trek10 — bought by Caylent in October 2025. Trek10 was a very good serverless specialist based in South Bend, Indiana, and it still turns up as an independent recommendation on lists published this year. It is now part of Caylent. If Trek10’s serverless expertise is what you were after, most of those people are still there — but you would be hiring Caylent.

Logicworks — now RapidScale, Powered by Logicworks. Cox Communications bought them in January 2023 and folded them into its RapidScale business. That is how they appear in AWS’s own partner directory now. The Logicworks name lives on in marketing but not as a separate company. Their compliance-heavy work for healthcare and finance carries on under RapidScale.

DuploCloud — not a consultancy at all. DuploCloud reached AWS Premier Tier in October 2025, which is why it started appearing on consulting lists. It is a software product — it automates DevOps work and helps you meet compliance rules like SOC 2, HIPAA and PCI. It might be exactly the right purchase for you. It is not a firm you hire to come and do work, and those are two very different decisions.

Onica also still shows up in AWS partner directories. Rackspace absorbed it years ago and the brand no longer exists.

How to actually choose

Forget the badges for a moment and answer four questions.

1. Is this a project, or do you need someone to run things?

Something with a finish line — new accounts set up, a migration, a bill brought down — is a project. Project firms are cheaper and faster at those. Round-the-clock operations is a managed service, and you want a firm AWS has validated for it. Buying the wrong one is the most common and most expensive mistake here.

2. Who is actually going to do the work?

Ask for the names of the engineers, what AWS certifications they hold, and how much of their week you get. A top-tier partner can still put two juniors and a part-time architect on your project. Ask before you sign, and get the names written into the contract.

3. Does what they are good at match what you need?

Every firm here says it does migration, DevOps, security and cost savings. The better question is what they are known for. CloudHesive for Amazon Connect. Effectual for the public sector. 2nd Watch for cutting big AWS bills. If your problem is not their strength, you are getting their second-string team.

If you want a badge to filter on, look at competencies rather than partner tiers. A competency means AWS checked their customer results in that specific area, so it tells you something about the work. The tier mostly tells you how big the firm is.

4. What happens in month seven?

Most AWS projects go fine for six months. Ask what handover looks like, whether your own team will be able to run what they build, and what documentation you get. A firm that cannot answer that clearly is assuming you will never leave.

One thing almost nobody asks for

Ask to speak to a customer your size, in your industry, from the last twelve months. Not a logo on a slide — an actual phone call. Firms that do good work for companies like yours will set that up within a week. Firms that do not will offer you a case study instead.

Frequently asked questions

What is an AWS Premier Tier Services Partner?

It is the top level in AWS’s partner programme. Firms earn it through the number of certified staff they have, customer references AWS has checked, and how much AWS business they bring in. It is a reliable sign that a firm is large and committed to AWS. It does not tell you how good the engineers on your project will be.

How much does AWS consulting cost?

Projects are usually either a fixed price for agreed work or charged by time and materials. Managed services are charged monthly, often as a percentage of your AWS bill or a fee per server. Watch the percentage-of-spend model: the partner earns more when your bill goes up. If a firm proposes it, ask how they are paid to bring costs down.

Do I need an AWS partner at all?

If you already have AWS engineers and a clear problem, you might only need help with the hard part. If you have no AWS expertise and live systems running, you need either a partner or a hire. A partner is usually quicker to start and easier to stop.

Is a bigger firm safer?

Bigger firms are more predictable and are not going to disappear. They are also more likely to give you whoever happens to be free. Small firms depend heavily on a few key people but usually give you their best ones. Neither is safer overall. They just fail in different ways.

How do I check a firm’s AWS partner status?

Use the AWS Partner Solutions Finder rather than the firm’s own marketing. These claims stay on websites long after the real status has changed.
